EPILOGUE

A CHILD’S VOICE IN DARKNESS

When adults write about children — do they remember that children can read?

A child’s voice in darkness.

LANTHE

When adults write about children— do they remember that children can read?

Silence. A single light illuminates the child’s drawing. It is a house. There are three figures outside it. They are holding hands. The printer begins again. One page. Then another. Then another. THE FOOL’s voice:

THE FOOL

And the Kingdom continued to produce documents. But somewhere— someone finally asked what they were for.

Blackout.
